Good Sam Club Management :(

... Is a group that had a LOT to learn about respect and character.

... I'll have to give it a few days to digest, before I say more, but having experienced their behaviour first hand for three days, with one more to go... I am going to have to give Serious consideration about whether I will continue any membership in their "club".

I am displeased with them to say the least... And thoroughly, and totally... Disgusted.

Unhappy with the Not so Good Samaritan... Good Sam mgmt.

Clubs of any kind are only as good as the people who 'run' it. Some people are just not meant to be in customer service, to be sure. Heard more people who think Escapees club is excellent than not. Good Sam's are money oriented and haven't always thought their 'sponsored' campgrounds very well maintained. But that's where those 'people' come in again.....

Brian, when those little voices inside you start talking, you better listen.I believe your feelings are genuwine.Good Sam Group which used to be the infinity group has its tenacles in all aspects of the travel , recreation and rv industry. They own Good Sam, Camping World , most of the rv subscriptions and a travel club which is a major rip off. They also own some large rv dealers. A couple of years ago mu wife and I got duped into a seminar, lured by a cheap travel package at Branson. For 10,000, we could join their wonderful travel club which enabled us to use condos and what have you throughout the would at cheap rates. The package got reduced to 2500. with military and boy scout discounts plus who knows what else. You could probably get it for about 100.00 if you waited long enough. Needless to say, I dont get involved in such things. When I realised who this group was I cancelled my subscriptions and the Good Sam club. I however have heard some good things about the Good Sam road service. My experience was not that good. My one experience at Camping World was also note noteworthy. I believe this group should merge with AARP as they both have the same goal-make you believe yur getting something of value. Neil

Aw, crud! Made the mistake of trying to preview rather than publish, so it dumpted. Too long anyway.
Short version of opinions.
Good Sam - not what it was when I joined in '95; probably not renewing when current term expires.
Escapees - love 'em! Worked alongside the Carr's, physical labor at that, at Escapade in '08, fine folks every one. Hard workers, too.
Roadside: Quit CW/GS a few years back and went with Coach-Net, getting a couple bucks off as an Escapee. Even the basic package includes more than bare roadside, including get my rig back to homebase if I'm laid up in a hospital somewhere. Gave 'em a call a few years back when a couple of injectors failed on my diesel, could get it to start / run for much over 30 seconds. Coach-Net did me right, impressive service and response.

I've been a member of Good Sam since 2003, although I never use their 10% discount, nor any other benifits, what ever they may be.
As for Good Sam Roadside assistance, I would never leave home without it. I've had excellent coverage from locked in keys to a tire change in the middle of nowhere where there were no named streets or roads. Thanks to Google Maps, the nice lady was able to find my location.

I don't have time this morning to reply... and still have to "Think" about this...

... the thing for me is this... There are a LOT of REALLY Great people in the group... it's the Ringers that you find in every group... My "Little Voices" need to be listened to... but a "Measured Response" to their complaints... and my "Issues"... Know what I mean? :)

But... there are some things the membership of the "group" needs to know and pay attention to... so... I'll give it a run in a day or two... as soon as things slow down enough for me to catch up!

Steven...I think Blogger has had indigestion a bit lately... it seems to be "Burping" a lot! :)

I think for the most part... Cindy kinda nailed it... it's all about the "People" involved... and THAT sure tangles things up, Don't it? :)

More to come! :)

Look forward to hearing details about your experience. I did hear reports about crowds and long waits for the trams so I'm sure there was some grumpy people.
Good Sam has undergone a restructuring and the management is fairly new. The CEO is working hard to make the organization better. Lots of improvements have been made but there is always room for more.
On the other hand you seem to be down on everything lately. Need some time off to relax?

I have had the same thought, which gives me the opening for another good post :)
