Changed My Address...

Just got back from a fast trip to South Dakota.

The plate on the Lakota is coming due next month. Colorado wants something over $900 bucks for that...

South Dakota? They'll register it for $184. Combine that with NO state income tax, along with the hundred or so saved on the truck registration  and my savings rises to well over a grand a year... probably nigh on to $1500...

So, I had to run up for the obligatory overnight stay to establish my "residency" __ Done and done.

On the way back stopped maybe 20 miles north of Council Bluffs along I-29 at one of those lil 50's diners for coffee and a sandwhich.

The feel of those spots suits me. The Excellent French dip and fries was a bonus. ;)

So, I'm now a duly licensed South Dakota "resident"... and the Socialist People's Republic of Colorado loses the ability to milk one more of its peons.

Keepin' on... just to see where it all winds up.

Congrats on your move. It's amazing how our fees keep going up and not slow at that. I travel full time and now live in Montana for similar reasons. Originally from California.

I am enjoying the similar savings living in Arizona in comparison to Kansas. A two year tag for the price of one. Sales tax is quite reasonable, except for dining out, so I don't very often.

Hey we'll be neighbors once I get there :)

Good state for a cowboy to call "home" even if you only pass through now and again.

Still tossing around NV, FL or SD. They all have pluses and minuses. From another early retiree's research she says FL has the best insurance options. I'll research once I get actually moved into my Class C.

Good choice. It is a mite inconvenient for some to visit SD but since you pick beets in Montana; you're almost home!
