Just Saddle Up and Ride...

At some point you just accept that you ain't got the power or the slick words to change a dang thing in this world...

You can beat your head against that wall until it's caved in... you can tell everyone that they're on fire, and point at the flames on their ass... you can take a picture of it and blow it up into a glossy 8X10 and SHOW them...

Yeah you can... and they'll still argue that your intransigent recalcitrance to submit to the will of the majority is the problem... NOT... the flames eating on their butt!

You come to realize that words are often useless. The same word means opposite things to two people. They stand in one place, looking at the Same Scene... and perceive two distinctly dissimilar things.

So yeah... rather than wasting any more of the water in my glass splashing it on the ass of a burnt sucker... who only gets mad at me for getting him wet... I'll just add a lil' whiskey... and drink it.

... then realize... I can't change a damned thing... Except might could be... One... Myself.

-If- "Born out of season"... "Born in the wrong century"... is the problem...

There's NEVER an absence of a solution... Only the failure to recognize it... or maybe the Will to pursue it...

My road is Back to the Future...

That trail is there... but it's hidden like the tracks of a man... walking in the surf...

What do you do when you can't find the trail?... Make a new one...

It is frustrating when our chosen "trail" doesn't lead to the "Promised Land," rather, it's a circle… and we end up right back where we started. "Never give up" rings hollow after about the 25th failure.
Those without fat bank accounts and/or political power have little voices that can't seem to be heard. The way I see it we have but two choices, drop out or drop dead. There is a third choice, which, according to Albert Einstein, is the definition of insanity: "doing something over and over again and expecting a different result."
But what do I know, I'm one of "them" too.

Started reading your posts when your first books were delivered by US Mail. I enjoyed them and appreciated knowledge of RV Boondocking. Edward Abbey and his script occupies a good portion of my soul and the same of my l library. Abbey or was it Hayduke who stated so succiently, "Growth for the sake of growth is the ideology of the cancer cell". I firmly believe that wether it be a local park district head strong on building a larger pool splash park when they mismanage what is at hand. The copper mining rearrangement of the western landscape runing south from San Xavier to a short days walk to Nogales all along west of what once was two lane track of road and now terminal interstate. It is everywhere. I will not be surprised to see " fracking" of oil moving west from Williston in to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Brian I wish you good luck.

I agree with Mark....this is about the most discouraged I have heard you in a long time. You are right on with your assessment of how people see things...the perspective is what each will always have. Yours, mine and theirs...hope you find the way that you can deal with. You have the right idea...some will never react to words or the fire so stay away from trying the 'toxic' approach...you will get the ulcer and they will just keep on the trail they travel.
