Mothers Day in the Rockies... and I'm Looking off at the Horizon...

Our time along the Front Range is coming pretty close to done... another week... maybe a couple days more... and I'll be back to rollin'... and none too soon!!

Seems like spring is finally catching up... I'll have to remember that next season... and move east and or west a little longer... staying a bit more south... for a bit longer :) ... Maybe have a scout to tell me when the trees are startin' to leaf out... before we roll north...

Well... wouldn't you know it... the price of fuel starts to make rumblings of a dive... maybe enough to even allow Alaska II to get resurrected... one more time... and then a very close friend goes and gets engaged... with the hanging... uh... ceremony...  slated for the 30th of July...

a Must attend affair...

SO... that is effectively the final back breakin' straw on that Camel! Alaska is gonna have to wait till next year... No way could I squeeze out a run that would have me in the Yukon in July... AND... be at a wedding in Colorado, at the same time... :) Even the Raider ain't THAT fast!

Well... actually it is... but, I'm fairly certain that those guys up in British Columbia... the one's with the funny hats and the bright red coats?... would have something to say about a Red Raider rippin' through the province at "Oh Damn that bike is Fast" speeds! :)

In lieu of that run, I've got a circle roughed out, in a fevered lil' brain, that would have us hooking back to somewhere around SW Montana come the middle to end of July... without runnin' hard... Making a few longer camps like we should...

I'm thinking that we'll try and find a place to park the rig for a few days... so we can make a Bob-tail run with just the Truck to Colorado for the festivities... and then back to the rig to finish out the Northern Season...

Might even make it as far NW as Butchardt Gardens in Victoria... Haven't been there in ten years or so... But... you know me... there's a long way tween here and there... Never know which way the rig will turn when it gets to a split in the road...

Last fall it ran NW out of Moab, instead of the SW that had been planned...

I like that spontaneity... not knowing exactly what's gonna happen... till you look back and see what you did...

Likely, we're gonna spend a week or so... up in Rocky... maybe drag over around Flaming Gorge for a bit... letting Spring get up ahead of us some... rather than waiting for it to catch up, like we've been doing.

So... a couple more chores and appointments to take care of here, around what is serving as Home Base until we devise something better... and then it's back on the road...

Sittin' still too long allows me to cook up too much trouble...

Too much planning ain't healthy. It's all about the journey and we can't really know what's ahead. But I sure can identify with sitting in one place too long. If you get a chance swing into the North Rim at Grand Canyon National Park. That's where I work/play and spend my summers. Lots of good boondocking in the Kaibab NF just outside the park.
