Double Post Saturday!

Ain't you lucky? :) yeah... if you look down below... there's another, windy post... below this one! :)

Took another stroll out around the mountain yesterday morning... this time runnin' the GPS... and... Uh... that fiver or six miles I thought it was... turned out to be a touch over 4... guess it just feels farther... when you've got enough miles on... You! :)

Heidi wanted to look a lil' bit for some more Turquoise that she could maybe work into jewelry somehow... as a pendant... or... whatever...

So... one foot in front of the other... we headed off... and actually did pretty fair... finding some nice lil' bits of stone...

*Hunting Turquoise in the Desert*
'Course... this is likely some cranky Ol' Desert Rats "Claim"... so we're in danger of bein' shot for Poaching! :) Aw well... a lil' excitement is good for a fella once in a while... right?

There is quite a bit of "color" around here though... Walking through this grey and brown landscape, the bits just jump out at you... if you look...

Though... some of the "Bits" are a lil' too big for me to bother haulin' back with me... and tell the truth... I'm more 'bout pictures of the countryside than collecting the bits of it...

It's a stark country... scary and bleak to a lot... Guess I lived in it long enough, the desert always feels pretty much like home to me...

But even puss gut Ol' Desert Rat, Busters gotta sit down and take a break once in a while...... and then... with our pockets full of her haul of Turquoise Nugget Treasures...

*Turquoise Nuggets*
... we came back to the trailer... and in pursuit of that Different Drummer of mine... I spent the afternoon... bangin' away on the keyboard... doin' some ee-lek-tronic house keeping... and trying to make sure I can put some more PBJ in the pantry for next month! :o)

... as you can see... I'm tap tap tappin' a goodly amount today too! :o) No rest for the wicked... right? But I can't complain... I feel like I've finally got that lil' Murphy bugger on the run...

...and if I don't do anything... really stupid... and a tree don't fall on me... I'll live till I die! :) Shining Times!

Howdy Brian,
I hope you're enjoying all that sunshine, you could send a little of your extra out my way!

If you didn't know, there is a bead museum in Glendale AZ that's closing. Here is the info that I received in an e-mail.

Hey Butch; Actually I did know about 'em. In another life I had a small shop on the ranch... and built some small beading looms for Heidi to sell through the store she was managing at the time...

... the Bead Museum requested one to add into their collection... no idea if they still have it...

That Bead Museum is the only one I know of... and considering Beads continue to feed us it's too bad it's goin' under... The hard times haven't quit yet...

Nice collection of pretty rocks. I'm prone to carry too many myself and have to high grade once in a while.

Too bad the bead museum is closing.

Hi Brian, Was wondering if you have a link to Heidi's Bead Shop posted anywhere on your site?
