Some Places Retard the Developement of Hitch Itch...

Leastways I think so... maybe it's the combination of a hell of a lot of miles in the last four months... knowin' that juuuuuust a lil' bit north of here... the winter ain't quite so soft... and the built in peacefulness of the desert...

*To the Far Blue Mountains*
Whatever it is... I don't much have that feeling of itchy restlessness growin' that I usually get, after we've set for a few days... and maybe I'm... finally... settling into the more measured pace that will be required in a time of high dollar diesel! :o) which is more than likely gonna be how it is for the rest of the time I'm burnin' it on this lil' blue marble.

Didn't go real far yesterday... just to the other side of those mountains... and a lil' bit left... Mike and Janna of the TinTeepee are boondocked over there... just a lil' ways... They've found a sweet lil' spot on BLM... I could tell you where... but... then it wouldn't be so sweet any more... and Mike & Janna would likely be chuckin' rocks at me... Just know... that if you look around in this desert... there's no shortage of places to set up and let the desert soak in...

We haven't yet decided how we're gonna "Do" the Tucson show... I have a whole lot of work I truly need to get done... and fact is... I don't get it done very well, when there's other folks close about... maybe I'll just hide out in the desert round about here, while herself meets up with her Bead People over to the Gem Show in the Old Pueblo...... hmmmmm.....

Me thinks there's enough quiet inspiration, layin' about in this desert, that I could pile up a lot of words in a week of writing solo... :o) gonna have to give that some careful cogitation...

The Quartzsite Airforce patrolled by again last evening... If I wasn't one of those fellas that gets the quivering wigglies... when I look over the edge of a cliff... and the screamin' jeebies, if some fool tries to drag my kiester onto an airplane... Ridin' one of those machines might could be some genuine fun.

*Another Sunset Patrol by the Quartzsite Airforce*
As he flew off into the lengthening shadows... a few of the rare and fleeting Quartzsite Clouds floated in the sunset sky...

And as the burgers sizzled on the grill... the sun finally sank clean out of sight on another soft day...

*** A little while after dark, last night, the sirens started wailing... Two engines and a third emergency car... lights flashing, sirens screaming went past on Plamosa Road... as I watched 'em approach I wondered where they were headed... until... as I turned, watching them as they passed... the flames came into View!

Uh Oh... maybe a quarter mile east of our camp... the flames were licking the sky above the rigs parked up that way... I knew that spot to be filled with Motorhomes and rigs... and I thought... "Damn, some poor soul is having a truly bad day...

My camera wouldn't focus on the flames in the dark... and to tell the truth, I haven't had the heart to go see what actually burned... it's a real bummer... but I know... these rocks don't burn... there's no grass... it didn't spread anywhere... and it was way, way too big for a campfire, flames 20 feet high or more... so... odds are... some poor Boondocker lost their rig last night... hopefully, it was just stuff, and no one got hurt... I'll likely find out today... but the first thought in my head was; "Now THERE is a good reason to NOT park your rigs so tight... in one of those big Rendezvous Camps."

Been reading for quite a while. Now I've got a question: can one download an e-book to a regular computer or do you have to have a nook or kindle? If so I'll get my reading material from you. Thanks,Ed

Ed; you can get the kindle program for your computer or one of the smart phones. Also... all my books are available through my smashwords supplier. They have them available in several formats including pdf... so yes sir! you have all sorts of options, with NO Kindle of Nook Required. Thanks!
