Happy Independence Day Ever'body!

Heidi and I were invited up to Nancy and Spooks place in the Mountains at Red Feather Lakes for their celebration... which for reasons unknown to this buster... are done on the 3rd... ??? aw well... there's a whole lot of this world I don't understand... and if this is the worst of it... I'm in good shape!

First things first... we started off with the obligatory Dog pictures of Lily an' Buck in the wild flowers that have taken over Nancy's Agility Field...

Then we took a walk around the lil' town... lookin' at the craft fair booths... as the tension built up in anticipation  of the humongous 4th of July Parade!... on the 3rd of July... ? :o)

 There were a couple of "Fun" entries... like this Ol' 1912 Ford...

 How'd ya like to try an' pull Your 5er with that rig Froggi? :o) ... and then, 'bout 1/2 the Paraders were various and sundry candidates... huntin' votes in the Up comin' primary season...

Howsomever... a very astute and ... uh ... eloquent fella had two of his trucks roll along right behind all the politicos... now you got to understand... these hyar trucks are used to pump out ... uh ... the tanks that sit in the ground... out behind your cabin... that fill with... uh ... "Stuff"... after you're all, completely, Done with it! :o)

... and this is the sign on those trucks of his... Year Round!

Now... be honest! ... How perfect is that? :o) and of course... the placement in the Parade couldn't have been sweeter!

Then... they also had these folks...

If you look real close.. they're fishin' in the toilets... the pretty much brought up the tailend of the Parade... and a "Political Comment" that I'll leave to your own meditations! :o)

Anyhoo... the "Mountain Wisdom" of some of those folks had me cacklin' some! :o) and in the end... makes me feel better... that in this land... there's a few folks left with the cajones to just up and say what they think... and if ya'll don't like it... bummer! :o)

But this here pic... is what it's ALL about... and needs no explanation...

 ...Other than... Ol' Glory... sailin' in the Breeze over the Red Feather Lakes Fire Station!...

So, with the parade done... we went back to the cabin, where I sat on the porch for an hour or so, sippin a brew, and tryin' to capture a good shot of the dozens of Hummingbirds buzzin' around their porch...

... and some of her flowers...

... Then it was off to the fireworks... hmmm... 4th of July Fireworks... on the 3rd of July... guess it don't really matter... Do it? :o)

For a lil' bitty town... they did a bang up job with the fireworks!

But all good things must have an end... so we an' the dogs climbed in lil' red an' came down the mountain... but... to start more good things... today... the actual and true 4th of July... we're climbin' back in Lil Red... and gonna head up over the top of trail ridge road up through Rocky Mountain National Park.
