The Decisions Made...

It just takes time to go slow. :o)

We set our most current RV Leaving back a day... too many lil' odds-and-ends chores to get done... that didn't... so We'll leave in the morning sometime... some call it procrastination... I call it... Slow an' Easy (sounds better than lazy... don't it?)

That's one benefit of living this way, a full Time drifter... just blowin' in the Wind... no place I have to be... and plenty of time to get there... a second being... that stretching things out that-a-way, slows down the consumption of diesel! :o) not a bad thing for a poor boy RVers anemic budget.

Kinda cool really... if you consider diesel and campground fees to be our Rent... it's pretty cool being able to really have some genuine control over the cost of those things. If we pay attention... and find the dispersed camp sites to set up... it yields us Zero camp cost... or just about (only have dumping and getting water to deal with)... and we can control the monthly cash flow for fuel... by simply slowing down...

... It's not much in the way of terribly difficult to lift your foot off the accelerator... or not push it down in the first place.

Helps make our lifestyle a viable thing for people that don't have a big thick wallet... just takes a little discipline... a little confidence... and a mite of "What the Hell" attitude...

So... today we'll finish getting things sorted out and ready to roll... and in the morning... we'll head off in the dy-rek-shun we have See-lek-ted!

Yup... we did get that done... making the decision to roll North and West...

I just don't feel like dealing with... anything that might have to be Dealt With... down along the border...  I'll just move along through places where such things aren't an issue... too bad our best are in Afghanistan... while the parasites continue to get fat... betraying us all... from the safety of their Ivory Towers... in D.C.

Anyhoo... we're gonna aim for the Burro Creek BLM area NW of Wickenburg... SE of Kingman... and on the way to a Springtime Rendezvous in Zion National Park... and that's 'bout as far out as we're looking right now... other than there's a hole in the calendar... between Zion and Denver...

Such difficult choices... West? North? East? so many roads... so little time... :o)

... and Late March is NOT a good time for us to roll back into Colorado... I have memories of 16' drifts hiding the shop, from the storms of March roaring out like a lion! ... so... uh... pardon me if I hold off until the April flowers are well established on the Front Range.

So... it's move along... reeeeeallllly slowly... fitting our movement along whatever trail we follow... into the weather... the ability of our fuel budget to keep up, and wherever my curiosity leads me... Which ain't a bad way, is it! Not enough fuel to go very far? Not a problem, Don't! :o) Works for me!

A Funny thing too... I tend to be a judgmental sort, a known fault I work at correcting all the time... and notice that I say "work at"... not succeed at! :o)  Well... the past few months, drifting along with the seasons... It seems that a lot of that "judgmental" part is getting rusty from disuse... Those things that used to get me all fired up?... just don't seem to have the power they once did... curious...

So anyhoo, starting again in the Arizona Morning... we'll be on the Road Again... Falling back into our routine of... Slow and Easy.

I can totally respect slow and easy. Plus I love Free camping.

You'll love that BLM area. Not far from my usual winter abode of Yarnell. But I'm on the road myself right now headed to S TX. And taking it easy along the way.

Zion is a great place to go to, and I'm sure you can find many open spaces in Utah to stay at before you head into Colorado.

we visited Zion a couple years back in the fall... The spring should be good... and southern Utah has some awesome Desert to stay in the Sun in... and kill some time before we move on east to Denver... and some good places for me to work out more of the storyline of my next book! :)

Hi Brian,
Consider joining the Elks. They have rv hookups and / or allow parking at their facilities at a very low cost. Check out the blog at http://ourodyssey.us/ and see where all they stay. They are fulltimers who rarely stay at campgrounds. ernie

Hello again, May I suggest you call Jim Kendall at 714 885 2345
He is the cartographer who developed the best "Indian Map" of the Four Corners area. The name & number are a few years old. So if he isn't still there ask about the "map of the Four Corners" It is the best map I have ever seen of that general area. I don't know what will happen if 100 readers of your blog call... that's life.
I'll skip my name .....

We finally hit town and your leavin. Took about a week and about $1000 in fuel to get to Phonix from Mpls Mn. That big Dodge got anywhere from 6.5 mpg to 9.9 mpg depending on wind and terrain. That was the big push to leave -3 deg. a week ago to 70 something here in Phonix. Now it's time to relax, slow down and enjoy friends. Heading to Yuma in a week and then who knows. Brand new fulltimers at last lookin for new trails to follow. You've been an inspuration to us. Lots to learn so keep up the great post's. Thanks
