The Eagle is Taking Off For The RV Gathering in Quartzsite

Outside of rustling Railroad Ties a lil' ways south of there, 35 years ago... I've not been by Quartzsite in a good long while... That's gonna change 'bout mid-day... We're pullin' out of here, plan is, by 9:30.

Not sure where the Eagle will find a Roost... but I've got a list of places from La Posa South to Plamosa Road, so I'm not expecting too big a problem finding a likely spot to spend our week at the biggest RV Rendezvous in the world...

It is... isn't it? ... Well... If it ain't, I'm purty sure it's big enough for me... truth is, I'm likely to look for a camp that's at least a compromise between being "In It"... and the soulful silence of the Far Country, out on the lonesome desert. Gotta try and stay a reasonable commute somewhere between where my sister and her fella are stayin' with their group right in the middle of the whole deal... and the lonesome country I prefer...

A few hours will tell the story...

Hitchin' Up and Bound for Quartzsite

p.s. did ya notice I Finally... spelled the dang place right? :o)

Enjoy! Be sure to check out the Escapees Happy Hour, too. I'm about 14 kinds of jealous right now, but I know my turn's coming. Reading you over the last several years has convinced me of that.
Thanks, Steven from Monument

You know the nudist group is always looking for new bodies.... join there circle if you really want to get back to nature!!!

seriously tho... we found a nice spot a few minutes south of town... is was either at the first or second checkin booth on the east side of the hiway. just stay on the main dirt road drag after check in and go past the water and dump stations about another mile and a half. When you get to some signs that say no camping beyond here, you are there. very few people want to drive that far and most want to be in the "center of it" so you will find plenty of space out there with some breathing room. AND lots of little trails that lead to the mountains east. Some of the trails are good enough dirt roads that Red Raider could easily navigate the back way to town... of course I'm the one that told you and Heidi that Imogene was a piece of cake. :)

well... we're not on the. backside of beyond... but for a zero dollar camp it'll do... and something like 75 degrees... dang... gets any colder and I'll have to put on a jacket :-)

uh... sorry Mark... we went north to Plamosa Road... when they saw your advice that it'd be no trouble down south, both Heidi and the Raider,, started shakin' like they had the palsy! :-)

See you there.

Steven... It's actually, a little to my surprise, a pretty fine place! climbed up nigh to 80 today... plenty of room... and for a poor boy... zero dollars to set up for a few weeks... awesome!

ummm... almost forgot... Mark... think I'm gonna have to pass on the Nudist group... don't want to be the cause of trouble for folks... when you're blessed with the cute lil' kiester I am... and all that, just plain Ol' awesome masculinity to boot, a fella has to be careful... allowin' folks to experience such beauty packed all into one fella can stir jealousy that many folks aren't equipped to deal with! :o)

Ok, excuse time is over, drag out that camera and start taking pictures. Never been to Quartzite and am anxious to see. Pictures, pictures, please. If you could, pics of the area you are camped in. Can you run your generator if needed?
