Remember What I Said About Plans?

Well... We abandoned the sucker again. :o)

We'd "Planned" to get up yesterday... and move camp to a place more suitable, for us, for a long term camp... maybe as much as ten days... This "Kens Lake" BLM spot, just out of MOAB is OK... it just don't measure up to the places we've been I guess... so we'll move...

Not a bad view from the desk. We sure don't have any lack of space to stretch out... but it lacks that... indefinable Thing... that makes a fella step out of the rig in the morning and say WOW! That I've grown used to :o)... so we'll adjust our location a bit! ... Hmmm... must be getting spoiled huh?

...Uh Uh... Not so fast.

We changed the plan, before the ink was dry on the map... and took off on a lil' day trip toot in the truck. Took the truck 'cause we thought we'd do some back roading, and that Raider just reeeeally ain't real proud of Dirt an' Gravel. :o)

Well... the lil' day trip turned into nigh on to a 200 mile circle! Turned up one dirt road leading back into Canyon lands... and some 9 hours later we rolled back into camp... just at dusk. Took something over 200 pictures of which 5 or 6 are maybe good :o) ...

But... THIS morning... we're gonna go do a scout up another road or two... Not So Far off... and see if we can't locate That Spot that just says; "Come and set a spell"

If I can get that done early enough this time...I can sit and go through those pictures I took yesterday... and get some of 'em up here... I'll hang a pair now for a taste...

*Canyonlands N.P. fading into the purple haze seen from Needles Overlook*
*The Southern Approach to Canyonlands National Park*
I gotta say... that Canyonlands country is mindful of the Grand Canyon, a bit farther south... same river built 'em both, so I guess it makes some sense... Likely the Grand Canyon was whittled out using some of the sand it carved out here huh?

Hard to believe anybody ever made a living in that land though... it's a stark and rough country... every bit as intimidating as that Alaskan and Yukon territory I rode through a while back...

Intimidating and Soul Filling beautiful all at the same time...

... off to find That Camp...
