Making Some Progress Organizing my RV Storage

Seems kind of like I've been "Running Against the Wind" since we sold the house last spring. So much has been goin' on, and so many distractions and diversions... I've not got projects done that should have been... Leastways...that's my story, and I'm stickin' to it! :o)

Got a long way on the RV Cargo Rack yesterday... wire wheeled the diamond plate for the deck, to get it clean enough for painting...
*assaulting the rust on the decking for an RV Cargo Deck*
Geeze... never thought I'd actually have to Think about getting rust off with a grinder...

The dang stuff would hide behind the lil' nubs of the diamond plate... so you had to come back at a different angle so the wire could get into the notch...

... hmmm... that says somethin' 'bout a guy now don't it? ... I mean if he thinks calculatin' angles of wire wheel application to rusty diamond plate is Thinkin'...

... maybe he has a need to cool out a lil'? :o)

*painting my RV Cargo Decking*

Anyhoo... got the rust knocked off... sprayed on some rust reformer to prime it a bit... and then a coat of flat black... and she's lookin' good!

While the paint was drying I set about puttin' in the hardware bins I picked up at Costco, while we were in Denver over the Christmas Holiday...

*RV Hardware Bins*

I think I told you before?... I picked up two of 'em. My idea is that I'll take all the nut and bolt inventory out of one of 'em... and double it up in the other...

That will open up all those bins for my electrical connectors, fuses, and other odd bits an' pieces I try and keep around...

... so I don't have to make a run to the hardware store every time I bust something...

and then... since the paint weren't dry yet... I took my lil' RV compressor and got it set in place...

It's a 3/4 horsepower Rol Air... not gonna blow folks away... but she gets the job done in a compact, quality package.

I picked it up from our storage shed while we were up north. I hadn't carried it, since we hadn't the generator to power it...

*RV Air Compressor*

Now that we have power for it, since we picked up that Champion Generator, I grabbed that lil' air pump so I can take care of my motorcycle, truck and trailer tires, right in camp... like I likely should have done... before now! :o)

also... if you put on your glasses, lean over your keyboard, get close to the monitor, and look reeeeal close you can see the light lil' shelf I put in above the compressor...

I've stuck my pin guns and air hose in there... so now... I can not only air up all my RV and motorcycle tires... I can build stuff I don't need... for folks that don't want it... sittin' in my RV Boondocking camp... where the tree huggers don't want me! :o) Shucks! I'm makin' ever'body happy! :o)

The only bump in the boondoggle yesterday was that I couldn't find the steel rivets I need to secure that decking down... so... I better shut down this contraption... and get to huntin' steel rivets, so the deck don't go flyin' off on our way over to Quartzite next week!

Makin' Smoke and Crankin' Out Sparks... down in the Desert!

A little garage logic that I've found to be true. Run on over to the hardware store and get some new steel rivits, finish up your project, and when your all done, them old rivits will show up some where.....thats how it works in my world. Just sayin

So, are you going to Quartzite for the desert parking or the big 100,000+ Rvers Show that will be there? And tents that sell stuff? Just wondering....

Hey watch Heidi and that naked guy!! Hopefully as cold as it has been, he will have on clothes. LOL
Glad you are getting ready to make the trip next week. We will be heading for Florida so Jim can go to a Crappie tournament and we can then go to a get together with the Womens RV Club I belong to. Sure hope it does warm up.
Take lots of pictures. Be safe.
