Days of Beer and Tinkering...

A pretty slow time... We've been not movin' around a whole lot... took a ride the other afternoon... been feeling kinda puny, so mostly stayin' "close to home". Sippin' Beer in the evening, and fiddling with the rig during the days... along with my usual tap tap tappin' on the keyboard...

Days in the winter Desert can be pretty slow an' soft... and the sunrises can be most as spectacular as the sunsets...

*Sunrise in the Valley of the Phoenix*
'Course all that settin' an' sippin' has allowed lots of time to tinker with the rig. Having completed that RV Cargo Rack that I replaced the Motorcycle Carrier with, been doin' a lot of sittin' and thinkin'... lookin' at where things can go, trying for that RV Nirvana where everything has a place... and ever'thing is... in ... its' place...

*an Arizona Morning*
I'm not there... and achieving that is unlikely I suppose, but I've made it quite a lil' distance. Along with the rack on the tail I whittled out a couple of shelves up in the forward compartment with scrap materials Bud had layin' about his shop...

They aren't pretty... but they function... and even that little bit of increased "space" has made things a lot more convenient and usable, eliminating a couple of clumsy tubs that really didn't fit anywhere, very well... so I'll live with the rough looks... I'll just keep the compartment closed when anybody else is around! :o)

I even did something I'm expecting a lot of people won't like... I hung my ladder under the belly!

*Hangin' the RV utility ladder under the Belly*
Yup! It and the slide locks... I rarely use the ladder... once or twice a month... maybe... so it don't need to be right in front of me... in the way... all the time.. With two ratchet straps and a bungee, it ain't goin' anywhere...

...and the slide locks... well... I don't use them at all, but figure I better have them around, just in case... so they're wired and tied to a cross member... outa sight... and outa mind! :o) and I'm not trippin' over 'em all the dang time!

There's a few more chores to button up before we head over to Quartzite for a few days... and then down to Tucson for the Gem and Mineral show, basically a "business circle" for Heidi's store...

That... the Tucson trip... is as far out as our planning goes... after that? well... I'm hopin' really to just suck up into the hills somewhere, and get down to some solid tap tap tappin' on this keyboard... lots of work to catch up on...

We shall see...

Warming Up, Down on the Desert
Brian

***P.S. Gonna leave Phoenix, headed for Quartzite, Wednesday morning. My sister and brother in law have reservations near to town (Quartzite)... We prefer dry camping, as ya'll know... but we'd like to be fairly close in (if we can), so we don't have to fight the traffic, too much, between their rig an' ours... so... Anybody got room in their BLM camp for one raggedy Ol' buster and his rig? or know where there is such a spot? Many Thanks!

Plenty of room at the far end of La Posa south. We're about 2 miles past the dumps. Not a lot of folks come out this far.

Trend Micro won't let me open "Box Canyon Blog".
Any chance you could check with Mark and see what is causing this? Read you Mark and George eery day.

You are right, I don't like the looks of the ladder underneath. Can't come up with a good reason, other than it looks like a weak spot waiting to malfunction. Why not just strap it to the bed of the truck? Not like you have a lot there anymore? The fact that you started the comment about the ladder with the fact that folks won't like it says to me you also know it isn't rock solid. My advice is worth what you paid for it. :)

David; Thanks, It's on my list!

Anon: I'll send Mark a note, I know he was having issues with messaging... don't know about not opening at all...

Shadow: It actually is rock solid as far as holding in place... it just looks, well... yuck... Guess I dislike it under there, less than I dislike it hangin' all over the rig up top... where I can see it! :o) When I get some more time... or is it ambition? I can maybe create a cleaner/better rack for some seldom used stuff under there.

Anonymous: I wasn't familiar with Trend Micro. Mark said you can go in to the program and either change the security level it is set at, or simply override it and name his site as a safe site. I'm on it all the time with no security issues... so no idea what your security program is kicking about.

Uh...Tucson?!?

You packing?

Sounds like Arizona is quite a place.

Keep your head down. And your papers out.

Aw... Tucson ain't so bad... at least they still believe in the right of self defense in Arizona... unlike other places where the people are so illiterate they Don't understand that, by definition, a Right, is something that neither Government OR Society can touch. It is the inviolate property of the individual... what can you expect from socialism, but willful ignorance

Gotcha. Thanks!

Yeah, that Tucson guy exercised his right to defend himself from the "currency" and the "genocide" of higher education.

My bad.

Soldier on. (And thanks to the 9-year-old whose parents donated her corneas.)
