The Great Wildflower Celebration Meet Up!

Heidi an' I pulled into the yard of the Box Canyon Blogger a lil' after 3 in the afternoon... after an overheating run up the canyon from Montrose... yup... our Ol' '99 is a mite lame... gonna have to deal with that!

Heidi was kinda quakin'... about the driveway... after hearing how the "Mine Shack" is perched on a ledge of the canyon... and the description of runnin' up the driveway... but settled down, as we made the pull... no great shakes...

Got the rig parked... so the Eagle could meet Fiver...

... tucked into the lil' grassy nook on the ledge, in front of the "Mine Shack"...

That lil' cabin is a sweet lil' cabin too... if I were to ever surrender to livin' in a cabin without wheels again... it could happen... such a spot would be a tolerable place to spin my yarns. :o)

... 'course... I'm gonna have to sell quite some few of my 'yarns'... to foot the bill! :o)

We walked uptown through the park to get some ice and a six pack of Alaskan Ale for the shindig... and give Mark some time to unwind from a day of savin' pilgrims at the Hot Springs... and made it back, with time to spare to start off the evenings festivities...

... and a fine time Heidi and I had... kinda weird though... meeting people for the first time... that you've known for maybe a couple years...

The fear there is that their 'real' person is somehow different than their... ee-lek-tronic personality... I suppose a lil' bit of that happened... though I can't say I noticed any... Walden Steve, John Q, M from Denmark! and her grandson.... Mark, Bobbie... whoever they are... they'll all do! ... and are welcome at my fire, any time.

This morning, I had this difficult view out the window from my desk to deal with... as the sun struggled to find its' way down into the canyon... and I whittled on my words...

Today I'm not sure where the trails are runnin'... I think there's gonna be some light hikin' and scoutin'... maybe some watercolors... and I'm knowin' for sure and for certain... plenty of Blarney stone polishin'... after all... I am here you know!
